Actually, I agree that there is no such thing as a dumb questions. Many read this board, and the level of understanding is quite varied.

However, the questions seemed more directed at the press release, than an attempt to really get to an understanding. Sometimes a press release does take a couple of readings, but the comments seemed more designed to complain about the press release than to understand what it said and why it was worded the way it was. Understanding press releases does require some background, which I thought most readers had. However, the science is complex, and I was happy to again give my take on what it said.

I think that the press release was deliberately vague and I don't think that there was any typo. The typo issue is what I initially took exception to, because replacing "now" with "not" really changes the meaning and the change is so drastic, that I'm not sure how such a change could be seriously considered.

Perhaps it was just a joke. If it was a joke, so was my Press Release 101 comment (at least the part directed to the author of the post).
