I am confused here. Certainly you are not saying that that goodwill and marketing expenses were one in the same, are you? Their marketing expenses, if I recall correctly, were distinctly referred to as "deferred subscriber acquisition costs," or something along those lines. Goodwill usually crops up when you buy out another company for more than its book value. I don't see how one is related to the other.
