Thanks everyone for the responses. I found the 'fdisk /mbr' solution right after I posted. The problem ends up seeming to be between this particular machine's CDROM (Gateway P75 w/ 4x Mitsumi) and Cheapbytes RH5.2. It's weird but, LSL RH5.2 will install. Cheapbytes will hang right after going to access the CDROM.

I use Partition Magic, but I didn't use it here. I couldn't easily figure out the commandline mode for DOS for use in this particular instance. I should go back and do that.

Can anyone come up with a reason why one RH5.2 distrib would work and another one wouldn't?
