G'day all - Chris, thanks for the article. Kudos for the two Daves for the candor. Bits & pieces of my reaction: The guy who ran around in jeans in the lab [Severino] became chairman, and the guy who wore white shits and stayed in the office [Ludwick] became CEO I assume Mr House [DH] said "white shirt" <VBG> Is it SM@RT.RESELLER [SR] freudian slip? More kudos for DH's frankness when he sez "Here, there's no merger of equals. John Roth is the CEO and I'm the president of Nortel Networks. He's the boss." But of course, we know where the emphasis on growth is! And finally, he sez "Both companies are recognizable, but we definitely have a communications task that will require us to step up to the bar relative to PR and advertising. You'll see us become more visible on those fronts with a unified message. It's really about communication and branding." For an old timer like myself, I am truly gratified to see these words. Let's hope it is being executed well. Now that Cruiser has resurfaced, I wonder if Willie still around. It is always good to have a contrarian in our midst to reign in the irrational exuberance <VBG>! best, Bosco
