terrapin:

there is a very significant distinction between the announcement of gmgc partnerships with intuit, qwest, v-commerce alliance, msft and WK and mere "letters of intent."

typically, "letters of intent" are non-binding documents, generally known as "agreements to agree" at a future date if certain prerequisites are met.

by way of contrast, the deals that have been announced by gmgc are not "agreements to agree," but real deals that will produce real revenues. please review the most recent markman memo for his treatment of the WK deal, for example.

granted, none of us knows the precise parameters of these deals, and so they remain shrouded in ambiguity. it would therefore be inappropriate to assign a specific value to each, or to the total sum. however, IMHO, it would be equally inappropriate to discount these strategic deals as having nominal value.

of course, we each need to decide how we are to assess the above....

good luck to you!
