Of Interest---Cotton Valley Pinnacle Reef Wells Marathon Announces Two More Successful East Texas Reef Wells HOUSTON, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Marathon Oil Company added two new wells to its string of successes in the Cotton Valley Reef trend with the Riley Trust No. 3 in Robertson County and the Poth No. 2 in Leon County, Texas. The Riley Trust No. 3 encountered reef and tested gas at the rate of 10 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) at 5,900 pounds per square inch (psi) flowing tubing pressure. Marathon is the operator of the well with a 75 percent interest. Broughton Associates Joint Venture owns the remaining 25 percent. The Poth No. 2 well flowed 31.7 mmcfd on test with a flowing tubing pressure of 3,700 psi. This well is within the largest reef accumulation encountered by Marathon to date. Marathon has a 100 percent interest in the well. The company has over 90,000 acres containing a large inventory of reef prospects which it is continuing to pursue.
