i think hyundai's announcement today squashes that.
hyundai is more than willing to take up the slack in rdram production.
in fact their goal is to fill the void.
btw we believe the royalties are up to 5% on some products.
tell me what are they going to use for memory?
sdram is dead. too slow.
sldram the 30 companies supporting this announced friday that they are disbanding.
ddrdram the ceo of sony just announced that ddr is unstable and sony is switching to rambus.
it seems to me that nobody likes royalties. rmbs will make a buck or two off a low end pc for an 8x increase in memory speed. you still pay msft $45 royalty on the same pc for windows. they may not like it but what are the alternatives?
