SEC suspends Metro Match, Golden Mountain trading
WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - The Securities and Exchange Commission Monday suspended trading in Metro Match Inc (OTC BB:MTMH - news) and Golden Mountain Inc (OTC BB:GDMN - news) through March 5, citing questions about the companies' publicly released information.
Questions have been raised about the adequacy and accuracy of the companies' business prospects and the identities of people in control of their operations, the agency said, adding that they are both shell corporations.
A shell corporation is a company that is incorporated but has no significant assets or operations.
Metro Match, of Las Vegas, Nevada, claims to have acquired steel and metallurgical companies and Golden Mountain, of Los Angeles, Calif., purports to have acquired chemical and polyester companies.
Telephone operators in those states said there were no listings for the companies.
Metro Match closed trading Friday at 19 and Golden Mountain ended at 16-2/16 on the Bulletin Board.
This brings to 11 this year the number of Bulletin Board-traded companies who have seen their securities temporarily suspended by the SEC.
