Business Partner Solutions has become a prime distributor of DataMirror
software across the Americas. BPS is the leading value-added distributor
for IBM with a network of more than 700 business partners.
This agreement will greatly enhance DataMirror's ability to reach customers
needing interconnected data solutions for their AS/400, RS/6000, S/390
mainframe, and Netfinity server based systems. BPS will become a prime
distributor for the entire DataMirror product family, including
Transformation Server, High Availability Suite, and SQL Pump.
The agreement, effective immediately, provides unique opportunities for
both organizations. DataMirror will expand its overall distribution channel
in the lucrative American markets through leveraging activities of the
extended network of BPS solution providers.
For BPS solution providers, business opportunity will increase from the
wide range of applications addressed by DataMirror replication and
transformation software. These include, high systems availability, cross
platform data movement, business intelligence, data and workload
distribution, and most importantly e-business. The agreement also benefits
existing DataMirror business partners in establishing a central purchasing
point for the BPS channel of DataMirror software, providing extensive
training facilities, and increasing service levels through BPS partner
support programs.
As part of the relationship, BPS will invest in a showcase training
facility for DataMirror software to help BPS solution providers become
certified in the implementation of DataMirror solutions. DataMirror and BPS
are also engaging in expanded joint marketing initiatives and other
co-operative programs.
DataMirror and BPS will be communicating and rolling out the details of the
agreement through several promotional vehicles, including a joint solution
provider exposition at this year's Business Partner Executive Conference
(BPEC) in New Orleans, Feb. 21 through Feb. 24. The theme of BPEC this year
is "Unleashing the power of e-business." DataMirror will staff a BPS
exhibit pedestal at locations SS07 through SS12 of the BPEC Expo. Other
programs and announcements are forthcoming.
