Robert, I know in hindsight that I should have heavily discounted the absurd numbers being bantered about by the cheerleading minority. Unfortunately, I was a complete novice to SI, and in my naievete, i believed the numbers, enough so that i not only bought into them, but did so with leverage. Ultimately, greed was my undoing. I have thought of writing a book about investing on-line for amateurs, with (1) a sizable section devoted to "information sources" and (2) another sizable section devoted to my own follies as a beginner. The one thing which i wish others would realize is that there are truly novices out there who are going occasionally to believe the absurd and put down their own (and possibly their family's) money based on what they read. Therefore, when idiots like Curly do what they do, some people are very likely to be financially destroyed. In the end, it really isn't Curly's or anybody else's fault except those laying down the money... and yet I wish people didn't get killed in this way. jess.
