I certainly hope you do that think they are doing so for altruistic reasons! Linux has the advantage of being essentially free (for the time being) so these companies are doing this to avoid paying MSFT for NT licenses. I personally am curious how red-hat software is going to make money giving away an OS essentially. Reminds me of MSFT giving away explorer....
