IMHO, accepting too many things as fact is very dangerous. As Ayn Rand says,always examine your premises. I survived the crashes of 1973 and 1987, and I would like to survive the next one. I must admit to sometimes playing Devil's Advocate, since these threads often tend to be dominated by senseless cheerleading. One only needs to go back 5 months or so to see posts of people deep into margin buying right before the collapse. It's exceedingly hard to recover lost capital. The fact is that dedicated machines are always better and cheaper than multipurpose (read PC) machines.If games is your main interest why spend the price of a PC? Speech recognition does not need much faster PC speeds - I use it. I do hold out a lot of hope for video conferencing, a concept that so far has been mostly a flop. It seems to me that much of the time and money spent on business trips is wasted. If I didn't (cautiously of course <g>) agree with most of what you say I wouldn't own RMBS and INTC. good investing
