Energold Mining Ltd EGD Shares issued 14,340,394 Feb 19 close $0.69 Mon 22 Feb 99 News Release Also Atna Resources Ltd (ATN) Mr. H. Walter Sellmer reports A 2,000-metre drill program on the San Antonio I concession, Dominican Republic, has commenced. The seven to 10 hole program will follow up recent favourable geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys and be centred over a 600 by 6,000-metre gold, copper, lead, silver and barium soil anomaly. Surface sampling of float boulders has returned gold values in the one to five grams per tonne range with highly anomalous base metal values. Previous shallow drilling within the anomalous area by Battle Mountain/Canyon Resources in 1990, intersected massive sulphide mineralization. Drill hole SJ-2 returned 15.6 metres of 1.2 per cent copper, 0.5 per cent zinc, 9.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.7 grams per tonne gold (in addition a 0.3-metre hanging wall interval graded 0.9 per cent copper, 15.2 per cent zinc, 29.1 grams per tonne silver and 5.8 grams per tonne gold). Hole SJ-4, 200 metres to the southeast, intersected 1.4 metres of 0.84 per cent copper, 4.8 per cent zinc, 13.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.4 grams per tonne gold (including 0.3 metres of 2.6 per cent copper, 16.9 per cent zinc, 25.7 grams per tonne silver and 1.1 grams per tonne gold) along the same mineralized contact as intersected by SJ-2. Atna can earn a 60 per cent interest in the San Antonio I concession from Energold Mining by spending $3-million (U.S.) over four years and issuing $300,000 (U.S.) in Atna shares. |
