Alan, Thanks for the kind words.
I certainly don't think this is an Emile vs. Mark issue. Obviously I am not Christian(despite Dan's repeated attempts via PM to make me see the "error" of my ways):-) Neither is Emile a believer in my hybrid Unitarian/new age viewpoints.
Emile's views are rooted in hatred. A majority of his posts are not about what he believes in, but what he is firmly against. He preaches about what he hates, he focuses on what he hates, he is consumed by what he hates.
As for me, I am hardly perfect either. there are times when I am too flippant, or when I let anger rule the moment. I am working on that. the main difference is that I hold no anger towards Christianity or any other religion although I admit that I truly am not a believer in organized relgion.
My feeling is that if it(Christianity) brings you closer to Love, closer to your family and your ideals, if it truly represents the grandest version of the greatest vision you have ever held of yourself, then I am happy for you.
The issue isn't me vs. Emile. the question is wheather this thread now represents the ideals and goals that each of you hold dear. If it does, great. If it doesn't, change it.
Your friend, Mark |
