To ALL.....Only in America!!!! A new star is born. As reported in the Wall St Journal the other day, Whiz Kid, who has a thread on SI under that name is a fifteen-year old high school boy in New Jersey. He has had a hot hand and a following in the hundreds, if not thousands... Today ( 2/22/99 ) he picked Filtered Soul ( FSOL ) he bought in at 94 cents and stock promptly went to 2.25....Whiz Kid got out and some on the thread accused him of pumping and dumping. Can you imagine this state of affairs when grown-ups who didn't do their own DD w3hine to a 15 year old? The first time they lose money, they will be writing to the SEC. This is the only 15 year old I know of who can kill a Market-Maker. Dan Miller ( his name ) started out with a 250 dollar grubstake and quickly ran it up to 4,000 dollars, doing his own DD...God knows what he is worth now....a lot of slimy adults have been calling him up offering big money to be put on a "heads-up" list...the kid, so far, has turned them all down. Day-trading is not my game ( I think I average 8-10 transactions in a busy year ) but each to his own. I don't think there is an OFF TOPIC on this thread ( is that right? Malcolm.)..just thought everyone would like this true story. When I was in the busness, everyone wanted a safe stock, yielding 10% that would double or triple....last one I had like that was Xerox, in 1990, selling at 30.00 and paying a 3.00 per year dividend.....not many took me up on that...they said " Xerox?? what kind of tip is that???".....since that time it split a couple of times and every one knows what it is selling at today....The name of the game is vision, PATIENCE and luck!!!! And always remember, the market is here to teach us HUMILITY!!!! if you don't believe that...you are in for many nasty suprises............see you....do your DD...and DDDD if necessary.........nysebob2 |
