Marc,

Thanks, this is an incredible announcement and just the tip of the iceberg for the IA-64 and PTEC. We have repeatedly heard that PTEC will get substantially more revenue per BIOS copy for the Merced and they have already invested in a substantial part of the R&D. This can only be very good news when the IA-64 starts to ship. Also, it is my understanding that PTEC is the only company who has a BIOS for the Merced.

A number of weeks ago I spoke with Laurent and I can say He is very knowledgeable and articulate. I believe he can get the PTEC message out to the investment community. I am very positive about the prospects for the future.

I guess no one on this thread liked my ideas on a PTEC advertisement campaign. The only person to respond was Laurent and he thanked me for the suggestion. I really believe PTEC is in a position of strength and I believe they have a superior product that end user customers will demand if properly informed. I wish someone else on this thread would share their thoughts on this subject. For example, the one thing I hate about my PC is the boot time and the next time I buy a PC I will demand that it has quick boot. I wonder how many others feel the way I do. I also wonder how many users even know that quick boot even exists.

With a near monopoly in the BIOS business and two divisions that are growing like crazy, this has to be one of the most undervalued stocks available. Hopefully PTEC can get the word out that they have communication enabling software instead of talking synthesizable cores. (Jules, can you elaborate on this point?) I believe Laurent has what it takes. Let's hope we don't have to wait much longer.
