Probably (pure guesses) - the yield distribution center isn't in a good place and from that wild "overclock with the freezer on top" scheme there's precious little margin. Now I don't know much about semi processing but I know a lot about probability and statistics. We ain't talking a six (or five or four or three or two or ...) sigma process here (Motorola definition). So "availability" of the chip is gonna be a problem unless they start an awful lot of wafers and take the hit on the duds. Maybe this is why the debut is not being attended by scads of box vendors. Probably the yields on this sucker are among the most tightly guarded data on the product. We'll know that yields are up when the boxmakers start announcing. I guess they think that this will be solved by the .18 fab in Dresden, but that's quite a ways off, if I remember correctly. Do you have any info on the current and power?

Burt
