Today I browsed www.slackware.com and found there is a rpmtotgz program that converts an rpm to a installpkg format. The only other thing I want to find out is how you selectively turn on and off deamons. This is good so you don't have to reboot if you mod exports, samba or the printer config. Redhat's way of using start and stop with the scripts in /etc/rc.c/init.d is simple and clean. But Slack is looking better. Gonna hafta update all ma web pages.
