Problem with gold is that all the gold ever mined is still around. If only gold was a consumable --- like Coca Cola --- then it would be valuable!

Interesting comparison... :0) However, one look at the price of oil would tell you that perishable consumables are no panacea.

But oil and gold share one quality. The prices of both commodities went to such heights that it became economically profitable to expand exploration for them.

The result has been oversupply of both and continuing downtrends in pricing.

Would that mean that Gold was inflated for the past 10 years??

Nah... couldn't be. Gold doesn't suffer inflation like other currencies.... <VBG>
