One of my favorites is Marquez's "Love in Time of Cholera". A magical writer.

Other fiction that immediately comes to mind includes:

Herman Hesse's spiritually and psychologically insightful:
"Siddhartha"
"Narcissus and Goldmund"
"Steppenwolf"

Jean Rhys' "Wide Sargasso Sea"--complex portrait of humanity

Samuel Beckett's plays: "Waiting for Godot" and "Endgame"
The strange and powerful novel "Molloy"

Camus' "The STranger" and others

SOme non-fiction (what I seem to read most):

Dr. Oliver Sacks'
"Anthropologist on Mars"
"The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat

I could go on and on and on, and still omit many wonderful reads . . .
I love books, but I have been reading with much less
frequency in the last few years. That's funny, I also got addicted to the
internet at about the same time...
