Good point you're making, hoffy - there are lots of emerging stocks that take forever to show heat. I try to focus on the emerging stocks - ones that are doing something fundamentally useful and different - AND are releasing news and moving up the stock price. Identifying stocks that are going to increase in value in, say, 2 - 12 weeks, and achieving a higher plateau of stock price and market achievement - that's the interesting challenge in my book, not just picking stocks to buy because momentum is going to move them long enough to get a profit and get out before they dive right back down - but that's just my viewpoint...
