NOTE......it is most important that you read the entire lesson..... Ok Jorj......Hubert, you better listen up also...... This is your joy of cooking lesson for the week..... subject: Know your ingredients subtitle: Baking soda and Baking Powder.....how they are different. Baking soda is a simple one ingredient product.....it contains only Bicarbonate of Soda It has many uses.....(reading side of box) oh yes that is a key point.....This product is usually in an orange box......most commonly sold by Arm and Hammer......suggested uses.....other than baking are: Teeth brushing......YUK An Antacid........oh what a relief it is. A 'fridge deodorizer...... (CK......are you taking note of that last line???) Baking Powder is a more complex, two or three ingredient product.......when speaking of the commonly sold brands, just look for it .....in the red can (thank you mph, for pointing out this distinction!) it is referred to as double acting.....(see note at end of lesson as a memory jogger for future reference) This product contains.....Calcium Acid and Bicarbonate of Soda, it may also contain Corn starch.....(shopping tip......buy with out the corn starch...you get more for your pennies.....LMAO) The only use commonly recommended for this product is Baking.. OK......now for future reference to jog your memory..... the Baking soda.....is similar to the males sexual responses......single acting....as in orgasms per encounter..... the Baking powder.......is similar to the womens' sexual responses..... double acting......as related to her ability to achieve more than one orgasm in a single encounter!!! There will be a test on this next week!!! ROFLMAO...... Placing the Joy of Cooking Book back on the shelf..... Reachin for the Joy of SEX Book........ ready for lesson number 2??
