I have also been trying to find an approach to making some $$$ through the mp3 craze.

Currently there is a battle ensuing to provide the technology that can help the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) set the "standard."

E-Digital (EDIG) is partnering with Lucent Technologies in Lucent's efforts to have their technology adopted by the RIAA. EDIG's "solid state player" is currently being used in conjunction with Lucent's EPAC technology that provides the security and compression rate that the RIAA may be looking for (EDIG is also doing some work with Intel).

In addition, EDIG has a deal signed with Lanier--it's worth $4 million for the first order (and they are looking at 10-12 million annually).
