You may be right, Zhivago. It seems to me that the speculative bubble in "blue chips" and Internet stocks is stealing the thunder from the overlooked-yet-profitable-and-growing smaller companies. It may take more than 2 or even 4 quarters for the tide to turn, IMO. Don't take my word for it, though---I'm an electrical engineer, not a stock-picking genius. Even so, it stands to reason that a high-growth company such as Anchor Gaming that's trading below 10 (P/E) should gain ground on the rest of the market over the longer term (3-5 years) no matter what happens (e.g. another crash like in 1987). Apparently small-caps are supposed to do best in a recovery from a recession. We're not in recession yet, but I won't be surprised if one does occur in 1999-2000, positioning small-caps for a surge.
