From milking sheep in NZ to punching cows in Texas here comes wrestling
sand gnats in Georgia. Teeth like alligators. Been following this and
contributing a little on the Loral thread. I'm a Lockheed Martin guy
(by the way Don calls me Mr.Sherrie but I'm really Rick. Sherrie and
I are joined at the hip-sometimes it's a stretch) Anyhow I think the
deal was great. Good synergies. For all you "Loralites" out there is
the following:Barron's, May 6,pg62,Reasearch Reports, "STRONG BUY.
A massively under-leveraged balance sheet, combined with unique
operating assets are to be managed by the group that grew the earnings
of Loral Corp. at a compound annual rate of 24% for an amazing 23 years!
Rarely in our experience has this set of features been present at the
very begining of public trading." Number of brokerage houses have issued
strong buys. It's been interesting to watch the volume build over the
past few days. I think you will start seeing some real public
announcments and press releases soon from LMT as well as LSP which
should help the stock out of its infancy. An interesting aside you
may not know. Before Lockheed Martin and Loral worked their deal,
Lockheed signed up with Motorola to launch their Iridium constellation..
LMT is getting real active in launch services. LMT now owns 20% of
LSP who has the deal with Globalstar.Loral said they are looking for
someone to launch Globalstar..daa..LMT may end up launching both
competing systems. Buy LMT. Tellep (still chairman) has predicted
that LMT will be over 100 by years end, but I really think LSP is the
real money maker, this being the beginning. This is a real "keeper".
