IMO, BLUD is a prime take-over candidate.I have posted several messages on Yahoo about this subject. Take overs and mergers are common place in this industry , and in the market in general today.

I-STAT's tests are mostly for blood gases (bedside), not serological, like Immucor's...not the same ball park. Hewlett- Packard does have a corp.plan to offer a complete line of automation...but I don't think HP is interested in blood labs... not real sure on that, though.

On the other hand, a company like BAYER, is a good candidate as a suitor for Immucor. BAYER does want blood lab automation devices and has a corp plan to acquire such.

ABT has had a close relationship with Immucor for years. There are always possibilities there i.e. for ABT toget into the serology reagent market. The "economies of scale" are staggering.
