Unisys and Compu-Dawn Announce Marketing Alliance to Provide Complete Public Safety Solutions
BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 1999--Unisys Corporation and Compu-Dawn, Inc.'s public safety division today announced a marketing alliance that couples Unisys state-of-the-art enterprise servers with Compu-Dawn's customized computer applications designed for use in law enforcement and public safety, empowering agencies with quick and reliable access to critical information.

The powerful combination of Unisys servers and Compu-Dawn's software solutions will allow agencies to more efficiently utilize the capabilities of the ALECS 2000 (Advanced Law Enforcement Computer Solutions), Compu-Dawn's suite of applications that provide powerful management tools for the public safety industry.

ALECS Mobile On-Line (AMO), a part of the ALECS 2000 suite, enables users to retrieve and process information across wireless and mobile computing environments. Among the modules offered are mobile applications such as mapping, crime analysis, database access, field reporting, mug shot transmission, lost or missing persons, vehicle location monitoring and automated ticket printing.

Through this agreement, Compu-Dawn's public safety division will be able to offer its clients a complete solution utilizing Unisys servers and extensive nationwide service capabilities to ensure a complete solution for their public safety applications.

''This alliance allows Unisys and Compu-Dawn to develop new clients in the public safety marketplace and offers new solutions to many existing Unisys clients in government and public safety agencies,'' said Rick Carbone, vice president, Business Partner Sales, Unisys Computer Systems. ''Unisys servers are the ideal match for Compu-Dawn's software applications: their high performance and high availability are critical, because their client's access to the types of information available through this solution will sometimes be a matter of life and death.''

''Our solutions, such as the ALECS 2000, provide an efficient and powerful tool that depends on state-of-the-art client/server technology. By offering our clients Unisys servers, we can together bring law enforcement computing into the 21st century, to the benefit of law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve,'' said Louis Libin, Chief Technology Officer of Compu-Dawn.
