Jane, Agreed...but that "policing of thoughts" comes from all corners, not just the one you named. I guess "freedom of expression" in here includes all observations that people wish to post, and if it applies to one, it has to apply to all. When an animal has been repeatedly beat up on, that animal goes into "defensive mode" and attacks at every provocation. Even when the one approaching it appears harmless. The problem begins when so many differing personalities meld in one spot. What offends you, "might" not offend others. What many times offends others, is idle chit chat for you. Thankfully, none of us have to read any post, even if it is posted to us. I wear out the "next" button on SI, just as I am sure many, many do with me.
