Rick, Globalstar has already arranged some launching, with Kazakhstan, using their MIRV [multiple independent targetted re-entry vehicles, previously built for the purpose of delivering nuclear bombs to USA] and some other company, can't think which. There will be a lot of launching, so I guess Lockheed would want to have a go: maybe they'll subcontract to Russia, China or somewhere. Loral Space certainly seems to have good management. Every one seems to be starting a satellite communications service of some sort. The world is going to be in constant shade if there are too many satellites! Already the geostationary slots are pretty much taken. Still some room in LEO though.

If your sand gnats are anything like Canada's blackflies, I don't envy you. About now is the blackfly season I think.
