If this fingerprint scanner biometric stuff is just a "Sharper Image-level gizmo" then why is Compaq selling many more scanners than they originally forecast? Are all of these computers with the new biometric capability going only to companies developing top-secret weapons? And why are so many companies jumping on the biometric bandwagon?

The writer of that article needs to do a little more research, don't you think? :-)
