PAL, RE:<< in December I sold CSCO Leap Jan00 puts/strike price 100, and use the money to buy CSCO Leap Jan00 calls/strike price 100.>> All you did there was create a synthetic long position in CSCO, except for the fact that you paid two large spreads (and commissions) instead of paying 1 small spread and commission. You'd be better off purchasing the stock.
