Do these analysts EVER look at the financials? Or is it just earnings, earnings, earnings.

The one that upgraded today had a 12 month target of just $13. Add another years worth of earnings and book value will be 13 anyway. Seems that the model these idiots are using fails miserably to take into effect the underlying assets of a company in its valuation.

Now I know that earnings are the single most important thing, but if VLSI being a profitable, cash flow positive, technology stock can't trade above the carrying value of its net assets then something is terribly wrong with the wisdom of this market. And remember that all the assets (Equipment and buildings) have been depreciated and are on the books and included in net assets/stockholders equity at far less than replacement value. And the value of all of VLSI's patents, knowledge base, talent, etc. is valued at a big fat 0 on the books.

On the other hand, maybe VLSI is the problem. For failure to leverage the earnings potential of these assets into a "more normal" market valuation. If thats the case, then they need to close up shop and sell out and return the money to the stockholders.

Either way 13 is as equally ridiculous as 10 or 11 in my opinion.
