Clifton Mining to Re-Open Their Cane Springs Mine

ALPINE, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 1999--Clifton Mining Co. (OTC
BB:CFTN) announced Tuesday they have secured the necessary permits to
pump water out of their Cane Springs Mine making it ready for mining
purposes soon according to William Moeller, president of Clifton Mining
Co., an emerging junior mining and exploration company. Assays from the
lower levels of the Cane Springs Mine are averaging over an ounce of
gold per ton.

''We are committed to getting the mine back on stream and are confident
that it will be done quickly and effectively,'' said Moeller. ''The
production from Cane Springs Mine will enhance our company's overall
value since it is such a high-grade mine.''

Clifton has assets in the northern Deep Creek Mountains of West-Central
Utah in the Clifton Mining District. The company currently has millions
of ounces of silver and thousands of ounces of gold certified resources.
Silver and gold are the primary metals mined by the company. Clifton has
been processing its reserves since October 1998 via a Gravity/Flotation
mill on its property. The company has the capacity to mill 200 tons per
day with a second mill under construction that will create an additional
750 tons per day of capacity. Clifton's long term value is further
enhanced by additional mineral deposits including: skarn deposits,
bedded replacement deposits and potentially a porphyry deposit.
