It already has been trading OTC for years under the ticker HSBHY. newsalert.com They just reported 1998 annual results and they were quite horrific, primarily due to the proliferation of bad loans: hsbcgroup.com Anyone considering buying Asian banks like HSBHY or MBK at this time is a very brave investor.... The bank is known on Wall Street as HSBC Holdings. It is a Hong Kong bank but is based in the U.K. because the Brits used to own HK (till summer '97).
