Or is it that oil stocks in general will be down for awhile based on low prices? Is this a time to sell the stock?

I think it's best to sell when the market thinks highly of a stock, and to buy when the opposite holds true. I invest in XON through their DRIP, and have a very long-term perspective. I think the merger with Mobil will be awesome as time goes on.

I also agree with you or acknowledge that oil stocks may very well be slow growers for the foreseeable future due to the glut. Remember though, that people are pigs when it comes to energy use (well, I live in America, and Colorado happens to be one of the SUV capitals); so try as the oil companies might, there will always be many people wanting more or this and that (almost all of which requires energy).

Dividend coming up March 10. Let's hope for a further drop in XON so I can get more shares for the dividend.

Randy
