Last night I listened to the replay of the ING Barings conference call. It was surprising to me in several ways, not the least of which was how confident Bernie Schwartz sounded.

The one statistic that I kept repeating to myself all day today was the moderator's cost per minute comparison Iridium vs Globalstar. He said that if Iridium were to sell every minute their network is capable of, they could sell it for $1.40 wholesale. Making the same assumption for Globalstar, the number was $0.14. One tenth the cost.

Bernie said words to the effect of, "Well, our analysis is a little different, but you're not far wrong. We think we could do it in the high single digits."

One of my marketing texts wrote, "The low end defines the market." In other words, it is real hard to sell a significant number of anything for 10x something else with similar functionality.
