Michelle-- aside from vacations, you would probably find the housing market here very unattractive. I have had a couple of bad experiences with houses. My real estate agent used to tell me about taking people around to look at houses and needing to have a box of kleenex in the car for the ones that openly wept when they saw what things cost -- and how pathetic the buildings were even at steep prices. On the other hand, I hear a lot of young tech types are buying vacation property on the Big Island. Most people here are still trying to sell to the Japanese -- slow learners. If you have DELL friends with money you could make a small fortune selling them vacation property -- contacts supplied upon request <G>.
