Paul and everyone else - Someone may be crashing Intel's PIII party

And it will be Intel themselves...

Check out these links.

"Intel might just be wishing that it had never included the security feature in the Pentium III."

news.com

""Can [the serial code] be hacked? The answer is, it can," Waldrop [an Intel spokesman] said."

Did you get that one Paul? Intel's PIII security feature has been hacked, and the PIII ISN'T EVEN OUT YET!!!

"Rambus memory technology delayed"

news.com

"Computers using the Rambus memory standard and the latest version of Intel's Accelerated Graphics Port have been delayed until late in the third quarter, Intel said today, a delay that will temporarily slow down parts of the Intel world."

"Camino's delay, for instance, will obviously mean that PCs equipped with fast Rambus memory won't appear until late in the third quarter."

"Intel will also have to wait a few more months until it upgrades the system bus that connects to the Pentium III."

Got that Paul? RAMBUS memory DELAYED. Camino DELAYED. AGP 4X DELAYED. 133MHz bus DELAYED.

Coppermine and Cascades may also be DELAYED.

Intel is going to have more delays than AMD did!!!

As many people have said, there are no real reasons to purchase PIII systems until the real, Camino-based PIII systems come out. Too bad they will be DELAYED by about THREE months!!!

The Bottom Line: Delay in Camino which supports 133MHz
bus -> Less money from not selling more expensive chipset +
Less money from not selling 133MHz bus capable
motherboards + Less money from not selling 133MHz bus
capable processors = Less revenue in Q2.

Add in the possibility that XEON w/on-chip cache may be delayed and things start to look even worse.

All these DELAYS by the Satan of Silicon (tm PR Engel) will allow AMD an even greater opportunity to take marketshare from Intel. The way it was going to be, Intel was going to have superior technology before the K7 came out. Now, Camino will come out AFTER the K7 because Camino was DELAYED!!!

How do you like this "bile and vehemence" from Intel, Paul?!
