Testing and Packaging Hold Back Production of D-RDRAM Chips

According to the Feb. 22, 1999 issue of Electronic News, just last week, a Fujitsu executive was quoted in press reports saying that the limited availability of high-end memory test equipment for Direct Rambus DRAMs and MicroBGA chip-scale packages for the devices are holding back production and shipment of the devices.

He predicted Rambus implementation would be delayed into 2000, rather then 1999, as Intel hopes.
