GSM may not be as technically advanced and economical to implement as CDMA, but for a country, such as China, who has invested billions on such a standard, it is the right decision to not to introduce CDMA. Since 3G is coming soon, and China will be one of the first to start deploying it, why invest in CDMA at all? Go with 3G.

As a QCOM investor, I am a bit upset. But I think it's a good decision for the Chinese people.

Q will benefit with either CDMA or 3G.
