1) Some months have 30 days, some months have 31 days. How many
months have 28 days?

A) February has 28 days every 3 out of 4 years. Except when the year is divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400. IE: in the year 2000, February will have 29 days, because it is divisible by 400, but in the year 2100, February will have only 28 days.

2) If a doctor gives you 3 pills and tells you to take one pill every
half hour, how long would it be before all the pills had been taken?

A)You would take a pill at time (t) = 0, 1/2 hour, and at 1 hour. So, after 1 hour all the pills would be consumed.

3) I went to bed at eight o'clock in the evening and wound up my clock
and set the alarm to sound at nine o'clock in the morning. How many
hours sleep would I get before being awakend by the alarm?

A)If it is a wind up clock, and if you go to sleep at eight o'clock, then you would get 1 hour of sleep, since the alarm would go off at nine o'clock.

4) Divide 30 by half and add ten. What do you get?

A)30 / 1/2 = 60. 60 + 10 = 70. The answer is 70.

5) A farmer had 17 sheep. All but 9 died. How many live sheep were
left?

A) Duhh. All but 9 died. OK, so now he has 9 alive sheep and 8 dead ones.

6) If you had only one match and entered a COLD and DARK room, where
there was an oil heater, an oil lamp and a candle, which would you
light

A) If you could find it in the COLD and DARD room, you would light the match first, then start lighting other combustible materials.

7) A man builds a house with four sides of rectangular construction,
each side having a southern exposure. A big bear comes along. What color is the bear?

A) If the house has 4 southern exposure sides, then it must be on the North Pole. We would assume that any bears roaming around the north pole are polar bears, and they are white. (except when divisible by 400) :-)

8) Take 2 apples from 3 apples. What do you have?

A) You have 2 apples, because you took 2. It doesn't matter how many were in the basket when you started.

9) How many animals of each species did Moses take with him in the
Ark?

A} OK, you got me. I knew Noah built an Ark, and Moses had a fight with his half brother, but I thought he just walked across when the sea separated.... Are you implying he used an ARK?

10) If you drove a bus with 43 people on board from Chicago and
stopped at Pittsburgh to pick up 7 more people and drop off 5 passengers and at Cleveland to drop off 8 passengers and pick up 4 more and eventually arrive at Philadelphia 20 hours later, what's the name of the driver?

A) If I'm driving, the driver's name is Jack! I love to drive the bus.
