Opened an account at Datek last month and even though they call themselves (as many do) an "online" brokerage, they won't accept transfers of funds from online bank accounts, send out passwords, or accept applications, by anything other than snail mail. So I waited for them to mail me a password and then finally tried to log on and get some realtime quotes. Their server would not accept my name and password, kept giving me invalid name messages. Well, I think I know my own name, so I email them a query and they send me a form message saying they have received my email but it will take a while to answer it. Four days later I get an email message to "put a Mr. or Ms. before my name and then try it". Four days! I'd hate to see what happens if they have a glitch involving some serious money. I never funded the account. Etrade sent me a check for $50 to open an account with them, but they seem overwhelmed lately too...
