Eicon Technology Provides Wide Area Networking Card
Technology to Options by IBM

FEBRUARY 24, 1999
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Eicon Technology, one of the global leaders in
remote access solutions, today announced that it has entered into
an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with IBM
Corporation (NYSE: IBM). Through the agreement, Eicon will
provide its industry leading WAN card technology for a new line of
products available through the Options By IBM (OBI) Division of
the IBM Personal Systems Group.

Eicon will provide a full range of high-speed, intelligent PCI WAN
cards that support multiple protocols including high-speed leased
lines, X.25, Frame Relay and ISDN.

allows us to respond to the needs of leading PC manufacturers,"
said Ken Gingrich, Eicon's Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales
and Marketing Operations. "IBM's choice of our WAN card
technology demonstrates our commitment to developing successful
OEM relationships with leading PC vendors."

able to meet IBM's local support requirements," added Thomas R.

IBM Netfinity-based WAN connectivity solutions provide customers
