SEATTLE, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Go2Net, Inc. (Nasdaq: GNET), a network of branded, technology- and community-driven Web sites, today announced the hiring of James Allard as vice president of operations. Allard joins Go2Net from Microsoft Corporation, where he served as the senior business manager for Microsoft's worldwide operations.
Allard will play a leading role in the development and expansion of Go2Net's electronic commerce offerings through the Go2Net Network, including HyperMart ( hypermart.net ), Go2Net's free business hosting service, which recently unveiled a comprehensive ecommerce strategy for calendar year 1999. The service currently includes more than 150,000 small- and medium-sized businesses and is growing at the rate of more than 15,000 new members per month.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Allard served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Treasury and previously was a corporate and international trade attorney with the law firm of Graham & James. He has a master's of business administration degree from Columbia University, a JD from Georgetown Law Center and a bachelor's of arts from Columbia University. |
