TeleServices International Group Client, BBJ Chemical, Selected for Feature Story to Air Today On National Television Program On Indoor Air Quality February 24, 1999 10:15 AM ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1999-- TeleServices International Group Inc. TSIG , today announced that its TeleServices Division client, BBJ Chemical Compounds of Tampa, Florida, will be the subject of a feature story on Great Day America, a program to be aired nationally today on the PAX Television Network, for the creation of its Indoor Air Quality technology.
Great Day America's special series segment on American Inventors will feature BBJ Chemical Compound's The Indoor Air First Aid Kit(tm) on Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. (EST and PST) and 2:00 p.m. (CST and MST).
BBJ is a leader in the emerging field of Indoor Air Quality and an innovator in developing solutions to biologically related indoor air quality problems. The technology behind The Indoor Air First Aid Kit(tm) will not only kill mold, mildew and bacteria that cause poor indoor air quality problems but will prevent them from growing back for up to six months. BBJ's MicroBiocide(tm), one of the products contained in the Kit, is the only product registered by the EPA specifically designed to control contamination and air pollution in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning ("HVAC") systems of homes, offices, health care facilities, and schools.
Robert H. Black, Chairman of Automation, Inc. and inventor of Clean Shower(R) will narrate the show. "I am very excited about BBJ's technology," said Bob Black. "I am extremely concerned about the environment and human safety. Indoor Air Quality has become a major health concern in the United States and the serious problem of microbiological contamination of indoor environments impacts us all. BBJ's environmentally friendly chemical products effectively control the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria contamination and air pollution in HVAC systems."
"Biological contaminants are the real culprit in poor indoor air quality," said Bob Baker, Chairman of BBJ and inventor of BBJ's MicroBiocide(tm). "HVAC systems are the perfect environment for microorganisms -- such as bacteria, algae and mold -- to grow, which give off toxic aerosols. Studies show that some of the symptoms people experience from 'sick building syndrome' are associated with the growth of odorous fungi and toxigenic molds in air conditioning systems." According to the Centers for Disease Control, "if these HVAC systems are poorly maintained, human exposures to toxic aerosols can be widespread, causing severe health consequences."
