"Excellent posts" from the "Long Iomega" crowd?

Hmmm..with all due respect, it seems to me this is why you are in the hole with IOM. All of these "excellent posts" have done nothing but blow smoke up your a__. The reality is on the store shelves and on the top and bottom line.

The reality is that Superdisk is now the dominant OEM presence. I was correct last Summer when I said that iMac would be a boon to Superdisk because of its floppy-compatibility. iMac hit the store shelves in late August, the matching USB Superdisk hit 2 weeks later, and the rest is history.

The reality is that Iomega's Top line "growth" has been NEGATIVE year to year for 3 quarters straight. Expect yet another fall from 1st Q'98 revenues this time around as well. This is not growth. This is called SHRINKING.

And then there are pesky things called earnings. Expect another LOSS for this quarter. The only reason Iomega scored a profit at all 4th Q '98 was because of the strong retail SEASONALITY. But there is no Christmas to save Iomega this time around. And as far as 2nd Quarter this year, expect a disastor.

As for a pre-announcement, Iomega doesn't really have to since they already warned about a possible loss last Q Conference Call. But I suppose they could warn about, and realize a much larger than expected loss due to production costs of the 40MB Flop!.
