On February 19, 1999, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) provided notice of
the immediate effectiveness of a rule
change proposed by the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®) to
discontinue the general practice of affixing an "F"
or a "Y" to the symbol of foreign securities and American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) that
trade on The Nasdaq Stock Market®.

Effective immediately, Nasdaq will change the symbol of foreign issuers who wish to
remove the "F" or "Y" from their symbol.
Furthermore, going forward, newly traded foreign securities will not have an "F" or a "Y"
appended to their symbols.

Please be sure that your Compliance Department receives a copy of this alert. Questions
