Just got a promo mailpiece from First Trust (Denver) about DRIP-IRAs and they have eliminated annual fees if you have a custodial IRA with > $10,000 in it; for $2000-10000 it's annual $29 fee. This is a significant change for DRIP-IRAs because one could eliminate brokerage charges eating up the proceeds _and_ delay taxation. It sounds like they're coming around! For info, the phone number is 1-800-863-2608 to get their free "Value Plus IRA Kit."
