I think the key to investing is not to select all the companies that is interesting. You don't want to have a portfolio of 20 stocks that mimics the S&P 500. Instead you want to select the best 5 or 10 stocks that will do the best. Diversification kills the performance.

I am thinking that there are only 5 companies worth investing:
Yahoo,
Cisco,
@Home,
MSFT,
AOL.

At least half of them in the above list will be world beater if we look 5 years from now.
