Bill: RE: eBay - The investment bankers initial pricing on Sept.23 at the IPO was $14 - final $24. Five months ago. Were they really that stupid that they'ld leave $11.5 billion of market cap laying on the table? I agree - eBay looks fab. The story seems outstanding, the internets have been market leaders, but the market has already valued this thing through the sky at $12 billion market cap on $1.5 million of last quarters earnings. This company was just created in 1995 (lolol, unbelievable). Couldn't anyone with a big checkbook come along and do a copycat while undercutting price?
